Planets in our solar system

There are eight planets in our solar system that orbit around the sun. Starting from the planet closest to the sun, they are:

Mercury – The smallest planet in the solar system and the closest planet to the sun.


Venus – The second planet from the sun and often called Earth\’s sister planet due to its similar size and composition.


Earth – The third planet from the sun and the only planet known to support life.


Mars – The fourth planet from the sun and also known as the \”Red Planet\” due to its reddish appearance.


Jupiter – The largest planet in the solar system and fifth planet from the sun. It has the most number of moons in the solar system.


Saturn – The sixth planet from the sun and known for its beautiful rings made of ice and dust particles.


Uranus – The seventh planet from the sun and the first planet discovered using a telescope.


Neptune – The eighth planet from the sun and the most distant planet in the solar system.

It is also known for its blue color and strong winds.
Pluto was once considered the ninth planet in the solar system but was reclassified as a dwarf planet in 2006 by the International Astronomical Union.
